          On a Jan. 3 episode of NPR’s Book of the Day podcast, Jonathan Eig, author of the biography King: A Life, spoke about the late leader, and noted that he didn’t have plans to become one when he joined the Montgomery Bus boycott in 1965.

          “This is one of the miraculous moments in American history where the right person happens to to be in the right place at the right time,” Eig said.

          “Martin Luther King, Jr. was not looking to become a leader.
