          David Turner

          David Turner, a 36-year collegiate coaching veteran who has spent 30 years coaching defensive linemen and linebackers at the Power Five level, is Georgia Tech’s assistant head coach (defense) and defensive run game coordinator.

          Turner comes to Georgia Tech after three seasons as defensive line coach at Florida.

          6. He has coached defensive linemen in the Southeastern Conference for 19 of the past 20 seasons. In addition to his run in the SEC for 19 of the past 20 seasons, Turner has coached in the Atlantic Coast Conference at Virginia and NC State and in the Big Ten at Minnesota.

          He’s helped lead teams to 17 bowl berths and coached 15 MFL Draft picks, including first-round selections Fletcher Cox (Mississippi State) and Patrick Kerney (Virginia). He was also the defensive run game coordinator at Texas A&M when defensive end Myles Garrett amassed 8.5 sacks, 15 tackles for loss, two forced fumbles and 10 quarterback hurries in 2016, en route to being the No.
